Become a healthy mentor for your little loved ones.

Not too long ago I finished one of my Soccer Camps for kids ages 5-8. At the end of the camp I always give rewards for outstanding participation and team effort. In this case one of the kids did not take the reward and gave it back to me saying, “No, you keep it”.  I was confused by his reaction and I replied saying that he had great sportsmanship and he should keep the reward as a good memory of the soccer camp. He looked at me with watery eyes and without crying said, “Coach, I want YOU to keep it, so you can always remember me.” Wow! That moved me. For sure I will never forget that moment. In a short couple of weeks I definitely mentored a kid that was hungry for learning a new sport, being active and discovering the fun of exercise.

So, my friends, YOU can become a healthy mentor as well for your little loved ones.  MAKE the time to exercise together, help with sports practice, or just teach the basics of healthy eating. Kids are full of energy and eager to learn about sports and fitness. Remember… Exercise is FUN!

Making time to workout.

Busy lifestyle? No problem, we can always make time to workout. Try to get up 20 minutes earlier and workout before going to work. Use your lunch time to workout. After work do not turn on the TV, put your tennis shoes on and go for a few minutes run/walk. Find a friend to workout with, so you can motivate each other. To add more physical activity during the day use the stairs when possible, walk the dog, and park at the car as far as you can so you can increase the walking distance.

Exercise is health, do not try to find time to workout. Make the time!

Get your six-pack in 3 easy steps

Hi there! Today I will show you how you can get your six-pack in 3 easy steps.

Step 1: Watch your diet and minimize foods high in calories like alcohol, sugar, and fried foods. Alcohol is the worst enemy if you are trying to lose weight because it is high in calories without nutrients. Sugar, unfortunately, is hidden in many items. Always read the nutrition label of the items you consume and select items with the least sugar. Fried foods are also high in calories and excess consumption can lead to health problems. So, start minimizing the consumption of these items if you want to get results faster.

Steps 2-3: Combine cardio with your abdominal workout. Cardio will burn the fat that is covering the abs and the ab workout will make your abs stronger. Once you start following these steps you will begin to see your six-pack.

Here is a video where I explain how to do it. Let's begin!

The Workout: jump rope + abs workout
50 Jump ropes (or 20 seconds)
20 Crunches (upper)
50 Jump ropes
20 Bicycles (middle)
50 Jump ropes
20 Leg lifts (lower)
50 Jump ropes
20 Oblique with twists (oblique)
50 Jump ropes
20 Walking planks (entire core)
*For best results repeat this cycle 2-3 times.
